It's done. I finished the first draft. Sure, it's rough around the edges and I'm going to need a lot of help to whip it into shape, but son of a gun, I did it. In three months, I put together a 65k word manuscript with a beginning, a middle, and an end. This time frame includes exhaustive research and brainstorming, with an average of 722 words written each day. Yes, my skin is white as the driven snow and yes, I have lost touch with reality in some very upsetting ways. I have only left my windowless home office under the most pressing of circumstances since November, 2016. I heard there was an election. In all this time, I have either been neck deep in research or plugging away at this manuscript like a fat little pigeon.
And now it's done.
On to the next chapter.
